Music Ambassadors

Today I went through an exciting opportunity for the Year 5 children to become a Music Ambassador for St. Wilfrid’s School. The job would help myself to promote music throughout the school and teach the younger children different songs.

If your child would like to apply, I am asking them to write me a letter telling me why they would make a good Music Ambassador and ideas of activities we could do in school. I will be choosing 6 children from the whole of Year 5.

I would like the letters to me by next Friday please. I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with beautiful music.

Reading Journals

Your child has come home with a reading journal. This is for every child to write down what they are reading, how many pages and when they have done this so that I have a record of the reading your child is completing. I will be looking at these every Thursday so they will need to be in school on this day.

If you would like your child to read different books from the ones you have at home then they are very welcome to borrow from the class bookshelves.

PE Days

For 9 weeks your child will participate in swimming lessons, which are every Monday morning. Your child will need to come in their costumes and bring a towel with them. They are allowed a snack to eat on the way back to school.

SportsEd lessons will also be on a Monday during the afternoon where your child will need to be in PE kit.

After swimming, a following PE lesson will start on Thursdays however I will let you know when these begin. Your child should come in school uniform until you get the notification.

Welcome to Year 5

It has been wonderful to see everyone after the summer holidays and I am really looking forward to a year filled with love, laughter and plenty of fun!
